My gambling addiction has ruined me over the past 2 months i need to stop. At first its cool because you win some money. You think its great. Then before you know it you loose it all only hoping to get it back. This is truley the point in my life where I am feeling completly empty. I stopped going to college quit my job. Stop talking to friends. Stopped eating healthy. Stopped playing basketball. Stopped everything because of online gambling. I need to change .this video at the end made me cry

gambling is a scary desease.the best way ive found is to fill out self exclution orders with venues within a 20km radius of your house and near work, this will slow you down in the beginning.ive filled out 20+ self exclution orders including major casinos and yes they do work i tried and was kicked out of a venue and was lucky to avoid a fine of $5000.you dont have to do it all at once start with your local venues.you should get to a point where the drive is more painful than any hope of gain.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but what of the people who feel empowered and encouraged by making a foe of their addiction.
I believe the GA method is a good method, and works very well for certain people. But how does that work for people who don’t share your opinions of powerlessness, “cannot be cured”, and placing trust in a higher power?

We don’t pigeonhole someone into saying that this is the only way you will be able to overcome your gambling addiction.

As a long time member of Gamblers Anonymous, I think it is misleading and perhaps even harmful to use phrases like “You have the power to succeed”…or… “To Win”.

As compulsive gamblers we have to admit our powerlessness over gambling and that the disease and compulsion cannot be cured, only arrested, quieted, contained…but only thorugh surrender, hard work and placing trust in your higher power to deliver you and keep you safe.
